Ad placement |
| Ad placement at nanogolive portal |
nanogolive makes available ad placement opportunities for advertising in the Life Science and Nano scope. |
The ad placement consists on the placement of one or several ads in several web pages of the nanogolive portal. |
| Different types of ads |
Two different types of ads can be placed at nanogolive pages: |
Static ads (images) |

Image formats accepted: JPEG, TIFF or PSD recommended, GIF accepted. Please note that any received image will be, in principle, converted to GIF format through a process optimization for web publishing, using professional software. Exceptions will be made in situations that demonstrate that the conversion to GIF format affect significantly the appearance and quality of the image) |
Animated ads (Rich Media) |

The animated (Rich Media) ads must be created in Flash format and published for Flash Player 6. Both the .fla and .swf files must be supplied |
| Comments about design |
If the ad is designed with a white (or significant clear) background, it is recommended to include a dark colored, dark gray or black stroke around the ad. |
Width: 1 pixel |
Location: inside |
Opacity: 100% |
This procedure will contribute to a better visibility of the ad and, as a consequence, a more strong visual impact. If this recommendation is not followed, the ad will tend to blend into the white background of nanogolive web page(s) where it is placed. |
| Ad functionality |
All available ad sizes must have a active URL (provided by the Client) to which the ads should link. |
All animated (Rich Media) ads (created in Flash format and published for Flash Player 6) must be tested prior to be sent to nanogolive. It is strongly recommended that the tests must focus on three different situations: |
Test in different browsers (example: Windows® Internet Explorer®, Netscape®, Flock™, Mozila Firefox©, and Opera©) |
Test in different browser versions |
| Compliance with the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) |
Available ad sizes for insertion at nanogolive, including recommendations from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) about the Recommended Maximum Initial Download Fileweight and the Recommended Animation Length. |
| Does nanogolive project, design and produce the ads? |
For static ads (images), yes, we project, design and produce any of the available sizes, if the Client wishes. Static ads produced by the editorial team of nanogolive will not be sent to the Client. |
For animated ads (Rich Media), no, we don't project, design nor produce them. They must be supplied no nanogolive by the Client. |
| Deadlines for submission |
In the case of ads sent by the Clients to nanogolive, those must be at our editorial board within 5+ business days prior to the publishing date. |
If the Client does not follow this specification, the result will be a delayed publishing date and the Client must assume total responsibility of it. |
| Submission |
Depending on the size of the ad(s) to be sent by the Clients to nanogolive, two alternative ways must be considered: |
| Different available periods |
| Right of submission refusal |
