The ideal candidate will perform cutting edge research in the following areas of neuroscience: molecular/cellular biology, protein biochemistry and structure, in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology, imaging, neurochemistry, systems neuroscience, computational biology, animal models of disease, neurogenetics, synapse biology, and behavioral/cognitive neuroscience. The candidates selected for the Neuroscience Fellowship will be expected to publish their data in top tier journals, attend and present at international meetings and collaborate across groups in the research unit.
Education & Experience:
Qualified individuals will have a Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline to enable them to perform at the highest level in the Neuroscience areas mentioned already. Technical Skills:

Job Description
Responsible for providing medical/scientific input and expertise to individual clinical trial(s) and/or overall development programme of a disease area.
Major Accountabilities:
- For the assigned clinical trial(s) within program/brand, as a member of the Clinical Trial Team (CTT), provide medical scientific input to, e.g.
- All activities related to planning, execution and reporting of clinical trials.
- Development of trial related documents (e.g. protocols, case report forms, data analysis plan, reports, publications).
- Development of presentation material for trial-related advisory boards, investigators meetings, protocol training meetings for the client's local medical organizations.
- Ongoing review of clinical trial data, final analysis and interpretation, in collaboration with the Safety Leader and appropriate CTT members.
- Serve as disease area scientific and medical expert for internal (e.g., CTT, International Clinical Team, Scientific Review Committee, Franchise Boards, the client's local medical organizations and other line functions) and external customers (e.g., Health Authorities, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)).
- Provide support for medical marketing activities (e.g., speaker training, advocacy, KOL management, advisory boards, launch support, promotional material).
- For the assigned program(s)/brand(s), provide medical scientific input to, e.g.
- Development of Confirmatory and Life cycle management Clinical Development Plan (C-CDP & L-CDP), including the development of local clinical programs.
- Preparation of key regulatory documents and meetings (e.g., End of Phase 2 FDA meeting; consultation meetings). In addition, may attend and give presentations at such meetings.
- Development of Health Authorities submissions including authoring clinical components of dossier, preparing presentations, and leading submission follow-up activities.
- Supports GMD in interactions with external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders, advisory boards, patient advocacy groups), internal stakeholders (e.g., Research, Exploratory Development, Marketing, HE&OR), and internal decision boards.
- Support GMD in ensuring overall safety of the brand in collaboration with the Safety Leader for the assigned program.
- Deputize for the GMD in International Project Team and as the program spokesperson in internal and external meetings/boards.
- Contribute to the scientific and medical evaluation of in-licensing candidates for the disease area.
- Responsible for the clinical input to the Exploratory Clinical Development Plan (E-CDP) in area of expertise in support of the NPMD.
- Contribute to talent and career development of Therapy Area (TA) staff through active participation in on-boarding, training and mentoring activities. May serve as faculty member for CD&MA training programs.
Minimum requirements:
Education (minimum/desirable):
- MD or PhD with unique knowledge for successful clinical program development and execution, with ≥ 6 years of clinical research experience required.
Or
- MD with specialty board certification or equivalent, with ≥ 3 years of clinical research experience required.
- Neuroscience development experience (Psychiatry or Neurology)
Languages:
- Good knowledge /Fluency in English .
Experience/Professional requirement:
- Advanced medical/scientific writing and communication skills.
- Proven ability to interpret, discuss and represent efficacy and safety data relating to the assigned area.

Postdoctoral position in molecular neuroscience
A postdoctoral fellow position in Molecular Neuroscience is available at the Neuroscience Center, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA. Our laboratory uses songbirds as a model system to study the molecular mechanisms underlying neural circuit development, sensitive period neural plasticity, and vocal learning, which are highly relevant to speech and language functions in humans. Current projects include studying developmental and experience-dependent gene and miRNA regulation network, using an integrative approach including genomics, viral based gene manipulation, histology, and behavioral analysis.
The successful candidate must be highly motivated and has a recent PhD degree in one of these fields: molecular biology, vertebrate developmental biology, and/or neuroscience. Strong background and hand-on experiences in molecular cloning, in situ hybridization, viral work, and handling animals are desirable. Strong communication and organization skills are required.
